Privacy Policy

Number Sense Trainer is a math practice website run by Avocado Math. Protecting privacy — especially children's privacy — is a priority, and we collect only the minimum needed to run the service.

What we collect

Parent accounts: an email address (verified at signup), a chosen username, and a password. Child accounts collect no email address at all — a parent creates the account with just a username (we encourage nicknames rather than real names) and a password. Passwords are stored only in securely hashed form. As students practice, we store their results (scores, stars, times) so progress can be tracked. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.

How we use it

Solely to run the service: signing you in, generating practice, tracking progress, and granting access. We show no ads, and we never sell or share personal information for marketing.

Who can see a child's information

The parent who manages the account; a coach, only if the parent explicitly accepts that coach's invitation; and the site administrator, for support and security. No one else.

Children's privacy

Children's accounts can only be created and paid for by a parent or guardian from a verified parent account — this is how we obtain parental consent. Parents can see their child's information at any time in the parent portal; to delete an account, emailcontact@avocadomath.org from the account's email address. Deleting an account erases its personal information; we retain only a one-way cryptographic hash of a deleted email (not the email itself) to prevent re-registration, and anonymized practice statistics that no longer identify anyone.

Security and cookies

Connections are encrypted, and we use only the essential cookies needed to keep you logged in — no advertising or tracking cookies. Trick videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no tracking cookies unless you press play.
